On Sunday, the State of Texas recorded zero Covid-19 deaths, a remarkable statistic given Joe Biden’s comments that the state’s reopening was premature “neanderthal thinking.”
On Sunday, Gov. Greg Abbott (R) jubilantly announced the news, thanking Texans for helping wrangle up Covid.
“Today Texas reported: * 0 Covid related deaths–the only time that’s happened since data was tracked in March, 2020,” the governor reported Sunday.
The news came despite medical experts predicting all hell would break loose back in March when Texas lifted its Covid restrictions, with Joe Biden leading the charge calling the move a “big mistake.”
“I think it’s a big mistake,” Biden told reporters. “I hope everybody realized by now these masks make a difference.”
“We are on the cusp of being able to fundamentally change the nature of this disease because of the way in which we were able to get the vaccines into people’s arms,” he said.
“The last thing, the last thing we need is Neanderthal thinking, that in the meantime ‘everything is fine, take off your masks’, forget it. It still matters.”
Looks like the thinking wasn’t so “neanderthal” after all.
