A study carried out by researchers at the King’s College London has revealed that a wide majority of mussel samples taken from different beaches are contaminated with microplastics. As part of the research, the scientists collected mussel samples from four beaches around Kent, U.K. and found that up to 60 percent of samples exhibited microplastic contamination on average.
