In a proclamation issued Friday, the president indicated his administration had already done much to address the problem, including signing an Executive Order targeting transnational criminal organizations.

Additionally, the president will sign two bills this month which will further his administration’s goals.

“These bills will keep those who commit trafficking offenses from operating commercial vehicles, improve anti-human trafficking coordination within Federal agencies and across State and local governments, and improve efforts to recognize, prevent, and report human trafficking,” Trump declared, claiming 25 million people are currently exploited.

The president also enlisted US citizens to help “identify and combat the evil of enslavement.”
