Getting to ‘yes’ on a bipartisan budget deal Yesterday, Republicans and Democrats in Congress outlined their priorities for a two-year bipartisan spending agreement. The White House and Republican leadership on Capitol Hill were clear about what they expect from a deal. “The American people deserve a government that funds our great military, protects our borders, and leads to a more prosperous future for all,” they said in a joint statement. In the afternoon, the President will present the National Security Medal to Richard Ledgett, Jr. Later in the afternoon, the President will meet with Republican members of the Senate about 2018 legislative priorities. The President will then meet with the Chairwoman of the Republican National Committee.
