Chinese Conglomerate Facing U.S. Sanctions

China’s multi-billion dollar aviation and shipping conglomerate, HNA Group Co., is facing U.S. government sanctions for providing false information to the government committee in charge of reviewing foreign purchases of American companies.

HNA, one of China’s largest companies, failed to disclose details about its ownership, including the fact that some of its owners are Communist Party of China members and current Chinese government officials, according to Trump administration officials.
