This video depicts Danielle Bregoli, also known as “Bhad Babie” as her stage name, a young provocative teen, and internet sensation who debuted her career as a walking meme, and “Hip Hop Artist” on The Dr. Phil show. She was on the show because of her behavior with her mother. Listen, I don’t know who in the right mind actually thinks that Dr. Phil actually accomplishes something on his show, but I’m sure its a vast majority of its daytime viewers. This was the start of something toxic, and so many of Phil’s viewers are put in such a trance seeking comfort from a mothers struggles and downfalls in her own life that it becomes humorous, rather than a serious matter. Anyway, Danielle on the show of course begins to act up, and at one point asks the live audience to “Catch Her Outside” which I’m sure many of you know what that garbage translates to. From there, she was on every iPhone screen across the social sector of media. Now, with a couple thousand dollars, and a false sense of fame established “Bhad Babie” does what every confused trendy teenager meme does best as she becomes irrelevant, continues to try to tread the deep-sea of YouTube revenue. She creates a Hip Hop image of herself. With over 4 million subscribers, and 19 million views on her newest track “Gucci Flip Flops” featured with rapper Lil Yachty, and actor David Spade. Historically, popular and trendy videos on this platform typically stay stagnate around a couple million views. This number is accounting for all of the teenagers that are virtually invested into all social media platforms and follow trending pages. But I digress on this facet of Danielles content, I want to dig deeper into this music video. The video begins with herself in a 50’s style poodle skirt with a family huddled around a living television watching the modern-day version of herself singing the song. The family which is depicted as a traditional American family looks at the video distraught with the provocativeness of Danielle’s lyrics, but after continuing to listen to the track they begin to enjoy it and the scene flips with the young boy now with tattoos on his face, the mother with cleavage smoking a cigarette and the father practically half naked with Timberland boots on. See, this is the problem. Danielle, and her team did something in this video that hits the nail on the head with modern-day family’s. This trend of accepting these disgusting habits, wearing exposing clothing, and listening the garbage music. What this video is trying to get to the bottom of is to be out with the old, and in with the new, which I’m completely fine with. But not this. These are things in which if we raise children to believe this is the way to behave, the clothes to wear, and the music to listen to, we are seriously leading the youth of America down a deep and dark path. This “go against the grain” mentality that Danielle and figures alike are transcribing to our youth is paralyzing. Again, I’m accepting to the fact that generations will continue going through trends and fads, but mine was Silly Bandz. Not smoking cigarettes, watching your mom hump your dad on the couch with a 40 oz in his left hand. This is sick, and all ties back to the censorship that we see on platforms like these, where Conservative literature is discredited and removed, but companies like YouTube will continue fueling behavior like this, and allowing them to produce content like this.
