159 Migrants Found in Four South Texas Stash Houses

Border Patrol Agents teamed up with local, state, and other federal law enforcement partners to shut down four human smuggling stash houses in South Texas. The raids over a two-day period resulted in the apprehension of 159 illegal immigrants.

Rio Grande Valley Sector agents carried out raids on four separate houses in cooperation with other law enforcement officials. The raids resulted in the arrests of 159 illegal immigrants from Mexico and Central America, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials. The raids began on Sunday when Border Patrol agents teamed up with special agents from CBP’s Homeland Security Investigations and Mission Police Department officers to raid a suspected human smuggling stash house. Once inside, the agents found 50 illegal immigrants warehoused inside the Mission, Texas, residence. The following day, Border Patrol agents carried out three more stash house raids in the border towns of Donna, Alamo, and Edinburg, Texas. While working with Hidalgo County Constable’s Office deputies, the agents found 109 migrants packed into the houses. (Read more)
