Olympic swimmer Scott Miller will face court again after being accused of masterminding a criminal drug syndicate “intent on delivering misery and death” to communities in NSW.
Police arrested Miller at his Wulumay Close unit in Rozelle in Sydney’s inner west this morning, and took him to Newtown police station for questioning.
Police alleged Miller was involved in the supply of more than $2 million of the drug ice concealed in candles.
“For all intents and purposes, they looked like regular candles but they weren’t laced with fragrance, they were laced with death and misery,” Detective John Watson said.
Miller’s arrest comes after a lengthy investigation by NSW Police and the NSW Crime Commission into an alleged criminal syndicate.
The 45-year-old was charged with directing a criminal group which was allegedly distributing large quantities of methamphetamines to towns in regional NSW.
