Texas Officials “Blindsided” as Feds Dump 700 Child Migrants in Oil Worker Camp

Officials in Texas say they were “blindsided” by the Biden administration’s decision to put hundreds of ‘child migrants’ in a man camp normally occupied by oil and gas workers in Midland.

Buses carrying ‘unaccompanied minors’ began arriving in the central Texas city with little forewarning, according to State Senator Kel Seliger.

“This decision by the Biden Administration was sprung on Midland County literally overnight,” Seliger stated on social media. “Buses began arriving late Sunday evening.”

“What I have been told is this issue was shopped around other Texas cities. But at no point was there a discussion between the Biden Administration and local Midland officials. It was a one-sided decision and for that I am furious.”

Department of Homeland Security Chief Alejandro Mayorkas was grilled on the matter by Rep. August Pfluger (R-TX) during a hearing on Wednesday.

So far, at least 53 illegal aliens currently staying at the Midland facility have tested positive for COVID, and while they have allegedly been quarantined in a separate camp, local officials believe that arrangement may only be temporary.

“The HHS Office of Refugee Resettlement advised shelters last Friday to shorten quarantine periods to seven days if unaccompanied children are tested within 48 hours before the end of quarantine and the test is negative,” the Midland-Reporter Telegram reports.

More than 13,000 ‘child migrants’ are currently in Border Patrol custody as a historic surge of illegal aliens pour across the U.S.-Mexico border.
