On Thursday the press office of Congressman Chip Roy (TX-21) relayed a message from him on his Twitter account regarding the extremism of House bill H.R. 4350, otherwise known as the National Defense Authorization Act. (NDAA)
The bill had bipartisan support, going through after a vote of 316 – 113, with 134 Republicans joining forces with Democrats to get it passed.
Congressman Roy took to Twitter to point out various radical aspects of the bill, including anti-second amendment gun-grabbing “red flag laws” on America’s military, a plan to address discrimination based on “sexual orientation” in the armed forces, critical race theory teachings for America’s troops, hiring “gender advisors for the Pentagon, and even forcing women to sign up for the draft.
Perhaps worst of all, the bill “also creates an ‘Office of Countering Extremism’ which could expel troops who engage in so-called ‘extremist activities’ or belong to an ‘extremist organization.’”
This particular clause concerns many, as many discussions by the government and liberal media alike have indicated an agenda of rooting the military of ‘extremism,’ a term that is often loosely defined, perhaps intentionally.
Congressman Roy has been widely recognized as of the most courageous and principled members of the United States Congress, frequently appearing as a guest on Tucker Carlson Tonight to discuss various conservative issues – including a recent special where he called for the Governor of Texas to ‘to start disregarding Biden’ on his inability to address the crisis at the border.
“So yes, 134 Republicans just voted for that.” The Congressman’s press team’s final post concluded.
“A woke military that drafts our daughters, wastes resources on Green New Deal garbage, holds no one accountable for Afghanistan disaster, and prioritizes playing leftist politics over destroying our enemies.”
“Rep. Roy voted no.”
